Another New School
|
Having been away from the public school system for a few years, I forgot what it was like. I also forgot how much fun it is to deal with superintendents and their educational decisions. Does it sound like I am a little bit cynical? Well I am.
After having the perfect class in a perfect school, I was transferred this week. The administration of CCSD has decided that 16 kids in a kindergarten class is not enough. They divided my class among 2 other classes and sent me to a new school. My new class has 31 students. I was given 1 day to move all my stuff into my new school, learn the policies and procedures, and prepare the room. That was Friday. I start teaching on Monday.
On a good note... My new school is beautiful. It is only a few years old and it is even closer to my house than the last one. The parents are very eager to help in the classroom and preparing stuff at home. I can't wait to see their faces on Monday when they see that I am 8 ½ months pregnant. Fortunately my track break coincides with my maternity leave.
Everything happens for a reason. That’s what my husband keeps telling me. Let’s hope he is right. Wish me luck tomorrow!
