Another Update? So Soon?

Lets start with Kyle. He had his first article published in the school newspaper. He is now officially the school sports writer. He has been busy! He only got one article published this time, since he started late. However he expects to have multiple stories published in the next edition. We will send out copies soon. In preparation for next year’s football season, he is still working out almost everyday. You should see his muscles now. Look out Arnold, there’s a new muscleman in town

Michael is fine. He continues to work very hard to grow his business. We have hired someone to help ease the workload and we are looking for another employee. Michael is so busy he can’t do it all himself. We are very thankful that he is so busy.

I am on track break now, which is why I actually have time to do this update. Over break, I am painting the boys’ room. We have lived here for 4 years; I think it’s time. I have also started a Bible study class a church. We are learning about the book of Ephesians. Since I have decided to improve my Spirit, I also started to work on my body. I was feeling really crappy about a month ago, so I started on the treadmill again. Michael helped get me motivated by taking me shopping after I lost a few pounds. He also kicks my butt out of bed in the mornings to get started. That’s what husbands are for, you know! I am really glad he helps me. And, I do feel much better now.

Ok, now for the real reason you are reading this update – news about Ethan. Well, the little man sure does charm the pants off of anyone! This was a big week for him and us. He learned to answer our questions and tell us what he wants. He has learned to shake his head no, and nod and say “yea”. So when we ask him if he wants a drink, he can now tell us. Boy does this ever make the guessing game much shorter an easier.

He has his favorite TV shows. He loves Teletubbies, Blue’s Clues and Jay Jay the Jet Airplane. He doesn’t really watch the whole episode, he just likes to have it on while he plays. Today I got tired of the TV so I turned it off. Ethan kept saying Laa Laa over and over again. For those of you without small kids, Laa Laa is a Teletubbie. When I didn’t turn on the TV, Ethan got the remote and brought it to me. He didn’t stop there though. After I told him that we were not going to watch Teletubbies, he kept trying to put the remote in my hands while saying Laa Laa, Laa Laa, Laa Laa. Needless to say, he won and I turned on yet another episode of Teletubbies.

His vocabulary is growing almost daily. Today he added “oo”, for spoon. He uses a spoon and fork to eat. And he prefers that he feed himself. He will complain if we try to feed him when he doesn’t want us to. Of course he at the stage where he call all fruits nanas (bananas) and all animals on the ground cats or dogs. All animals that fly are birds. He loves watching the hummingbirds come to our feeders every day.

Since the weather is so nice lately we have been playing outside everyday. He likes to walk in the grass and throw rocks. He also loves to carry the rocks one at a time to a new location – usually in the house on the steps.

Ethan loves to walk and climb on things. He pushes the kitchen chairs into place so he can climb on them. He gets so excited when we go for walks on the street. He gets his shoes and brings them as soon as you tell him that its time for a walk.

Ethan has made our happy home even happier!
